Eileen and Fulvio are privileged to have received permission from the Traditional Owners to operate the retreat on Bremer Island. A portion of every guest’s stay directly supports the Traditional Owners through a permit fee, fostering a meaningful and respectful connection to the land.

The name "Banubanu" refers to the large rocky outcrops at the northern tip of Bremer Island (Dhambaliya), as named by the Yolŋu people. In partnership with the local community, there are a number of unique activities available for you to participate in with all proceeds directly assisting them.

Dedicated to sustainability, Banubanu operates entirely on solar power and uses fresh bore water which the owners (originating from Melbourne), believe tastes even better! This eco-friendly retreat, built in collaboration with the Yolŋu, offers guests a chance to reconnect with nature in a simple, tranquil environment—far from the distractions of modern life.
