Crocosaurus Cove, located in the heart of Darwin city, showcases the world’s largest display of Australian reptiles, including the iconic saltwater crocodile!

Crocosaurus Cove’s unique facility and animal encounters serve to educate visitors on the importance of valuing and preserving Australia’s native wildlife, and encourage a peaceful co-existence between humans and reptiles

in the Northern Territory and beyond. All animal handling opportunities are optional and supervised by our trained animal handlers and photographers.

Aside from general entry, the attraction is home to some of Australia’s most unique reptile experiences.

Cage of Death 

Immerse yourself in the environment of Australia’s most mesmerizing apex predator, the saltwater crocodile. 

Experience the ultimate face-to-face encounter as you are carefully lowered in to the water with a 5m saltwater crocodile for 15 minutes. Take in his intimidating gaze, feel the sheer power of his 3 tonne bite force, and learn to appreciate his true strength and resilience as a modern-day dinosaur. 

The Cage of Death activity offers swimmers the opportunity to get up close and personal with our saltwater crocodiles in a controlled environment that is safe and enriching for both the crocodile and the visitor. 

Feed a 5m+ Saltwater Crocodile

Crocosaurus Cove’s Big Croc Encounter VIP Tour offers a unique behind- the-scenes look at our park, giving visitors in-depth insight in to our reptiles and how we care for them. 

Meet our experienced handlers at the start of your 1.5 hour tour, who will lead you through the park, share our animals’ stories, and supervise your encounters with our unique reptiles. 

This fantastic tour is offered at 10am and 1pm daily, and is the ultimate experience for every reptile lover. All animal handling opportunities are optional and supervised by our animal handlers. 

Hand feed a Freshwater Whipray 

Experience the magnificent Freshwater Whiprays in our brand new Whipray Encounter. 

Available each day as part of our Aquarium show, be guided by our experienced handlers as you hand feed one of our friendly 2m Whiprays. 

Get up close to these inquisitive creatures who are also very keen to get to know you!
